Were you in Auckland yesterday? It seemed like we had more rain in one day than we have had all year! Claire and Sam had huge smiles despite the inclement weather and somehow managed to make everything seem sunny. Below is a little preview to show why it doesn’t matter if it pours with rain on your wedding day. It is still possible to get great pictures with the right location and an amazing couple. Thanks Claire and Sam, you were fantastic!  Also a huge thank you to the lovely Keri-Anne from Dilworth Photography for her amazing help and skills!Anna and Mundo chose Auckland’s Abbeville Estate for their big day. The historic buildings, exquisite grounds, friendly staff and no curfew make it the ideal location! We thought the light was gorgeous in sun and shade and it had a huge variety of beautiful settings for the photography.
We loved the orchard setting with it’s vast green backdrops and flattering light. We brought along a traditional apple picking ladder to help set the scene.
Mundo is from Mexico so the couple decided to have their post reception celebration fiesta style in Abbeville’s country barn! The decorations complimented the already quirky decor. Some of our favourite photos were taken in here. The reception room at Abbeville is simple and elegant with lots of pretty white light. It was easy to move around the tables and get great shots of all the guests.

Here is a little post on a magazine shoot we did during our winter months. We gave our models those yummy little heaty hand warmer things but unfortunately they can’t be used during photo taking time. The girls were real troopers because it wasn’t nearly as warm as they make it look! Toward the end of the shoot we noticed someone had lit a fire across the way (not us, we promise!). It created THE most beautiful foggy effect with the late afternoon sun! “Um Ladies… would you mind trekking across that muddy field into the patch of light where you can’t see a thing???” …. PERFECT!
