The Ballad of Herb and Daisy is a love story we began building about eight months ago. When we decided on the Nature theme for Issue Two of {MAG} rouge we couldn’t think of a better time to turn this dream into a reality. As you may have noticed we love working with real life couples and since meeting Eliza and Cam, as guests at a wedding last year, we couldn’t imagine anyone more perfect for the roles. There was just one problem…. they live in Australia. When we caught wind they were visiting our fair shores in January we began to stalk them  They graciously agreed to devote a whole day of their brief trip to us and suddenly everything fell into place.

A La Robe lent us the perfect dress for Daisy and told us not to worry about getting it dirty – more music to our ears. Rodd & Gunn had the perfect pair of brown corduroys for Herb, not to mention his dapper white shirt. Annie Oxborough of me, myself and i put together the most stunning array of floral artistry from the wildly rambling bouquet to the intricately woven garland on the treehouse – she is a true genius!  Sox Teng, our trusty hair and make-up artist braved many elements to deliver her flawless finish and Steph from Bubblerock made a beautiful movie for the magazine. The other {MAG} rouge ladies whose talent and dedication is always beyond our wildest expectations went to town with the concept also! Kate styled Herb and Daisy’s gorgeous meadow reception table and well, what  Judit doesn’t know about gingerbread, isn’t worth knowing. Yes, the giant cookie menu board did get eaten and how cute is that cake??!!
