Thanks to Polka Dot Bride for featuring this wedding today! Freya and Colin were married in the lovely Matakana church on a beautiful, sunny Wednesday afternoon in February. They had come all the way from England, bringing with them the day’s piece de resistance, Colin’s blue three piece suit. We were extremely excited to photograph it and encourage all grooms thinking of wearing a colour to go for it, it really works!

After the ceremony, guests were served locally made gelato, then taken by bus to Sandspit.
There, everyone boarded the Kawau Kat for a trip down the river to the sensational home of Freya’s parents.

We love a personal wedding, especially when the reception venue is a supermodel of homes.
We brought along a few props of our own to mix and match with Colin’s beautiful suit. We couldn’t have asked for more gracious, fun and co-operative subjects.
We whipped up some old fashioned toffee apples the day before, with a recipe we found on the internet.
and borrowed this vintage bike from the grooviest retro store Mrs Jones who always magically has the answer ‘yes” when we ask “do you have any…?”

More red, this time wooden apples!

We wrapped up just as the sun started to go down and the degustation menu was being served. An amazing wedding – thanks, Colin and Freya!
